I just played in my local community band last night. We rehearsed in an auditorium. The other tuba player sat back at the back of the auditorium and told me that he heard:

-The notes were very dark and centered

-The instrument (old cerveny) had major presence
the notes were in tune

-When I added vibrato, it was very easy to hear

-The notes throughout the register did not sound muffled or restrained
the extreme low range below low F was very present. I played the low part on Jupiter. I played at a MF dynamic.

-Low D and Db was very clear. Usually I have some extra vibrational properties on the extremely low notes but nothing but pure sound. Probably the dampening of the lead in the solder.

Summary: I played my instrument with a MF to F level last night and had just as much projection and presence as if I was playing FF. My p to pp playing was really awesome. It felt like I was playing on a totally different instrument.

I want to thank Mark F. for this extremely wonderful invention. I already have some buyers for your final product when it comes out. Be sure to make some caps for St. Petersburg tubas.

Thanks
