I was in Durham a couple of months ago and had the pleasure of playing a St. Pete at the Tuba Exchange. I was very impressed with the sound and the intonation. Very solid sound. They had a tuner on the stand and every note I played was right on the money. I was also very appreciative of the friendly and patient help the staff of TE gave me. My first instrument is trombone, and I only began playing tuba about 3 yrs ago. I had many questions.
I have seen a number of posts on this site about the St. Pete -- some favorable and others
not so favorable -- but I can tell you that I thought it was a great horn for the money, esp.
for someone like me, a weekend player who doesn't want to invest a huge amount, but still appreciates quality sound.
