I am a horn player. I do not agree with Jon. I have seldom found tuba
players overblowing. In fact, I love some of the "big" moments in
orchestral music. And I am somewhat envious of tuba players and many of
their parts. European (Austrian) band music might give one more appreciation
for the complementary qualities of the brass family and the lyrical quality
of the tuba as well as the horn.
