Last year, the band director at my high School bought 3 used 641s. These horns have been trouble since then. The valves are incredibly slow, and the intonation is suspect, but the biggest problem with these horns is that they're falling apart. A brace in the 1st valve slide fell off on one, ad when that was fixed, the lead pipe came undone from its brace on another. While these are not major problems, they have driven my self and the other tuba players nuts.

P.S. I own a VMI 2103 (4 rotary valve BBb, I get the model #s confused) and the Yamahas don't come close to it. IMHO its the best BBb for the money
