A Dremel is pretty good for cutting out small shapes, but for things like tubing I use a jeweler's saw.

But on the subject of spatulas, why is it that spatulas are built the way they are. Consider that your finger describes an arc that has its center roughly at the first knuckle of the hand. A spatula describes an arc that is exactly in opposition to that of your finger. In other words, your finger HAS to slide on the surface of the spatula because it's moving in a direction opposite to that of the spatula.

So why not place the pivot of the spatula right under the first knuckle of the hand with the spatulas pointing away from the bell? That way, a spatula and your finger would be moving as a single unit with little or no slippage.

Anyone got any ideas on this?
