If you decide to major in music (althought the other sugestions certainly have merit) here's my list (granted it leans towrd an orchestral career):

1) Curtis--it's free and Jake, Torchinsky, Good, Diefes et. al. seem to have gotten a lot out of it.

2) CCM (Univ. of Cincinatti)--Tim Northcutt seems to be doing well and the school has a lot of money--albeit the word is that it goes to grad. students.

3) Juilliard--No financial bargain but Warren's students do exceptionally well (Diefes-Syracuse, Olka-Seattle, just to name a few. . .).

4) Maybe Rice/Eastman

Beyond that if you want to teach college or be in a military band or quintet/free lance try IU (Indiana), ASU (Arizona State), Michigan or Tennesee Tech.

Good luck.
