I agree that the CC would not be the route to go at this time. You're a beginner with several years ahead of you before college. The instrument you buy now with a rather limited budget will not be the instrument you would take to college. It is apparently true that college professors usually prefer their students to have CC, but what has not been decided at this point, is if you will be a tuba major in college or if you will just play like the vast majority of us which is just for fun. A BB is much better for high school and other bands. You will find alot more reasonably priced BBs than CCs too.
