Just the first thought that came to mind... if you're really that desperate to get the spit outta there, you could have a piece of tape handy and use it to hold down the third valve, use one hand on the fourth valve, and the other to remove the slide. Of course, the tape might leave some crappy residue on the horn... anybody have a refinement of this idea?
Oh yeah, if you had a prehensile tail, you could use that to hold down the valve, but, alas...
