Last semester, our brass choir was asked to play for December graduation. Most of the group agreed, since we had done the spring graduation the year before for about $150 each. So, we show up to the gig, and when the group is done warming up, our director comes in the room. "Yeah-- so, you thought this was a free gig--" (we all look at him in angry and confused shock) "but ooh! I, uh, I got you each a Snickers bar!" I think I would have rather played gratis... :)
