They couldn't be hard to respring. I did it myself while I was in high school. All that was needed was some piano wire and a pair of pliers with cutters and a vice to hold the two ends of the wire. Just thread it through the hole, bend it, clamp the ends and turn it to wind the wire while keeping it under tension. Cheap, easy and pretty quick.
