It is not worth the trouble, and you may well end up with a horn that doesn't work at all. The conversions you see are either cheapie project horns that people like me undertake on junk horns just to see what it takes, or they are done by high-quality craftspeople on horns of special qualities or value to make them more suited to professional applications. Even the relatively low-cost conversions, where no regard is given to cosmetics, will end in horns that sell in the $4000-5000 range. For that money, you can buy used CC tubas that most would consider to be better horns than your YBB 321.

But if it's a junker and you are itching to burn down the house, here's an account of such a project to let you know how ugly it can get.
