Alex Schoemann, owner of a VMI 2103 for about 4 years now
bought it from Brasswind
I like pretty much everything about this horn the sound, intonation, response, valves
dislikes: the VMI logo looks kinda silly (in other words there's nothing major)
My favorite feature, hmmmmmmm i don't really know what you mean by feature, but i love the valves on my horn, they're some of the best rotary valves i've used
As far as it being the best tube i've bought, its the only tuba i've bought so that makes it the best i guess...
and my favorite anecdote: Before i got the horn i played on a school owned Conn 12J (for those who don't know its a small bore, 3/4 horn) I'd only had the horn a week or so before my first concert and on the program was the 1812 Overture (a band transcription) and I wasn't quite used to all the air required with the larger bore, so when the end of 1812 came along with those big brass cord i was blowing my luings out...long story short i could barely stand after the concert and was completely exhausted, fortunatly i learned how to play loud pretty quick.
if you have anymore questions feel free to email me
