Hello all,
The recital Friday went well...thank you Mike for your kind post! I have yet another late invitation for you fellow "tubenetters." We (NEC) are performing Mahler's 6th Symphony Wednesday night, April 18th at 8:00pm in Jordan Hall of the New England Conservatory in Boston, MA with Ben Zander conducting. For those of you not familiar with Zander, it is quite an understatement to say that he is adement about Mahler's symhonies. He has recorded many of the symphonies with Philharmonia (with whom he just performed Mahler's 6th just over a week ago in London). I believe he won a Grammy for one last year (I believe the 9th...might be wrong). Wow!!! What a symphony!! Didn't know the 6th very well beforehand. Can't even begin to tell ya'll how much fun I've had these last two weeks learning it. Well, hope to see some of you there. Find me afterwards for beers...no doubt we'll head straight to the bar immediately following the concert...imagine that!!!
