Joe, I can't agree more! But, this problem isn't only related to teachers. I had a customer that sent a horn back because he said it didn't project enough. This horn had also developed a bad rattle on low B's. The horn played fine, but we couldn't get the rattle to go away. Our shop was ready to return the horn to the manufacturer, when I convinced them to run a dent ball through. Once the ball didn't come out, we knew we had a problem.....we're dealing with people from Indiana here...it takes us a while! A slightly larger ball showed us the problem! Out came a bottle of Al Cass. The rattle was gone, and the projection was back to normal.
At least when Zerkel did this, he knew it and had it taken out right away! :)
Also, the bottle of Al Cass cost the guy over $4.00! :)
