With the except of a large, bi-radial bell, the main difference between American-concept and German-concept tubas seems to be how early in the open bugle the conical taper begins.
The differences are significant.
I've done some measurements and written an article on the subject, but not for F tubas. My comparison was with BBb contrabass tubas. You might glance at it to see the measurements.
