This is probably just a result of my dental problem, but personally the Denis Wick SM 4 didn't quite work that well for me. I used it for a while and really enjoyed the dark tone and full sound you could get from it. However it didn't do much for my control. This is most likely a result of the shallowness tied in with the wideness of the cup. It also caused some major endurance problems for me. I switched over to the Brian Bowman BB1 model. This is an outstanding mouthpiece with a nice dark tone, and great control. The best thing for you to do is go with what works best for you. But it is good to get a poll from everyone so you have a little bit to stand on. Good luck, and best wishes.
