A couple that are very roughly speaking in my neck of the woods are Sewanee Music Camp in southeastern Tennessee at the University of the South campus in the Cumberland Mountains region (ala: Jack Daniels whisky distillery, etc.) and Brevard Music Center - just about due east of Sewanee over in southern South Carolina and not to far from Ashville. Both offer high levels of musicianship, slightly cooler climates, and beautiful scenery. I believe Sewanee is 5 weeks and Brevard is a 6 week camp and possibly some scholarship money is available, although I'm not intimately familiar with either place.
