I think that Cerveny considers the 691 their large bore 4/4 tuba and the 601 as a 5/4. The only difference, as Klaus points out, is the height and therefore the wrap. The bore, bell size and even the leadpipe look identical on the two of them. The 601 is a very tall tuba that could be awkward for some to hold, although I liked the BBb version that I played. I haven't tried a 691 and don't know what that extra slide could be.
