If your Weril is more than a couple of years old, they have completely re-tooled their piston and casing manufacturing and they are now some of the most "stick-free" valves that I have tried - even without oiling.

Admittedly, the "Elkhart Conn"-style pin valve guide is a bit of a nuisance, but it was also shear-proof. I say "WAS" because the very latest Weril euphoniums and tubas will have slot guides like everyone else's (Yamaha, U.M.I., etc., etc.).
