I own a music store right in the middle of an area where the practice is to pay substantial kickbacks to band directors in order to get kids to buy second-rate stuff for top-rate prices. (Funny, a high school football coach here has been fired and indicted for taking about the same amount of money for college funneling that some of the local band directors around here "take" in on a regular basis.)

I'm still here, and I have no trouble sleeping at night because I will not play in the slop with the pigs.

Just because many others are swine doesn't mean that they define the profession. Go out there and make your own definition of what your profession is through your accomplishments and more importantly through your legacy.

Create your legacy with passion, and RUN, don't walk from the many "grey" (not Gray!) areas that society today loves to encourage.
