Someone local to me (MA) is selling a Yamaha YBB321 for $2000 (I can't vouch for the horn as I haven't seen it.) I wouldn't be pressured into buying a horn - definitely have your son play the horn ... not just once or twice, but a bit ... to make sure that the horn and he are a good match.
