From an ergonimics standpoint, I think that the 2975 would be a very good choice for a tuba player who wanted to play euph. But you also need to consider what your idea of euph sound is. I don't know if the 2975 would hold its resale value as well as a 2900, though.

One caution--the thumbring is a bit small if you have large hands. Mine has half cut off to fit the thumb without pinching. I've got a spare tucked away in case I ever need to sell the horn (runs about $25 from DEG).
