THE best strap I used was one is used on an old Yamaha Eb whilst marching.

What you need is a little (don't know the right term) marching ball welded onto the bottom bow of your horn. Then you can get a nice thick strap that wraps over BOTH shoulders and connects to the 'ball' at the bottom of your tuba. Hooks suck because they allow little movement, make it more difficult to get into a good playing posture/position and don't allow for the double shoulder strap. Use a single shoulder strap for too long, and you WILL need to see a chiropractor.
