I once had a very dedicated student, who played the small Besson Westminster Eb on a DW 1. Marvellous results. That guy ended up as a pro in an army band. On euph and bassbone (we have very small army brass bands calling for as much doubling as possible).
Another, maybe more accessible, option would be the Conn Helleberg. Which after all is the one laying behind the DW designs.
