My quintet got a gig playing a wedding in Gettysburg, about 2 hours from home. Well we got $100 per so we figured Ok why not. Also, the bride was friend of one of our trumpeters. Well this wedding was a marathon. There was a half hour recital before hand. During the service there were all kinds of soloists, a puppet show!, the bride's church choir and hand bell choir. From start to finish the wedding was 2 hours long! Then we had to drive home 2 hours yet! $100 bucks for 61/2 hours plus gas, ouch!
