Blue Juice is what I use these days after two or three years of valve hell. Yamaha also recommends Viper Oil, which has some sort of teflon-like additive. That worked well for me as well, but Blue Juice is easier to find. Lee Stofer recently worked on my tuba, and replaced my 2nd generation of plastic valve guides with ones that are faced with metal. A metal surface on the flat area touches the valve and does not wear, but plastic still touches the sides of of the guide channel, so there is no side to side clank.
