I have extensive experience with the Meinl Weston 32. In my experience they are excellent all around tubas. These tubas are not responsive to a forced air column. I have found that if you play with very relaxed air, these tubas are able to play from very soft to loud enough to play in a large orchestra or band. I have also found that these tubas are easy to play, have a good even response throughout its range and dynamics. The sound is dark with center. I think that a Bach 18 is an excellent choice for this tuba. For years I played it with a Bach 7 and the response was not quite like it should have been. I like the MW 32 very much. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any further questions about the MW 32.

good luck,
Dr. Mark E. Chachich
