I have one - well, the music dep't at my school has one but I have complete access to it. I have used it on school tubas and euphoniums with some success. Our instruments are pretty beat up and some of the deep dents on the gaurds won't completely erase. For normal dents (ones that one or us would make, not kids who couldn't care less), it will work just fine.

But, I don't think I would feel comfortable using it on my personal instruments that still have that new look. I have watched Dave Fedderly use the eraser and he prepares the area carefully before using it - to prevent laquer/silver plate damage. Also, those dent balls can actually create new dents if you don't use it right.

I would say if you have a tuba that you don't mind messing up a little, practice on that before using it on a good horn or a paying customer.
