Donald Stauffer wrote the book A Treatise on the Tuba before Bevan's first edition and then with a significant update about ten years after Bevan's first edition. It is not as authoritative as Bevan, but there is some useful stuff in it.
Make sure you look at both editions of The Tuba Family. They are quite different and reflect continued scholarship on Bevan's part in the intervening 20-odd years.
