If you don't already know "how" to play in tune, the Reynolds book won't help you because you won't know where to go with it. The TuneUp system will get you where you need to be, that is, you'll be able to recognize when you are in tune, and you can go from there with the Reynolds book. It's learning to recognize the lack of beats, or the specific kind of beats, that should be there for a given interval or set of intervals. It really is very straightforward, and I've seen people who appeared to be clueless, get it in about a half hour using TuneUp. ....then you can use the Reynolds book and leap to the next level.
