He is playing two world premieres on this recital.

The first is _Sonata for Tuba and Piano_ by Erik Nielsen (b. 1950).
Published by Middle Branch Music. This three-movement work is the second
composition written for Nelson by this composer, the first, _Spiritual
Alloys_ for tuba and vibraphone, was premiered and recorded by Nelson
while at Millikin University.

_Call of the River_ by John Harmon. Nichols Music Company, 1994. Written
for and premiered by Sam Pilafian.


_Tango Images_ by Adriana Figueroa Manas. World premiere. Each movement
is a tango with a different and distinct style.

_Wonderland Duets_ by Raymond Luedeke (b. 1944). Published by Tenuto
Publications (1968, published 1971).

_The Dancing King_ by Jesse Ayers (b. 1951). Published by Tuba-Euphonium
Press. Written for Frank Blanton and premiered by Jerry Young at ITEC
Sapporo, 1991.

_Four Works Celebrating the Solstice/Equinox Cycle of 2002_ by James Grant
(b. 1954). Published by Tuba-Euphonium Press.
