I believe the stuff they used many years ago is better than what they use today, though I don't know why and I'm not sure I want to. The material used on my tooth originally was installed something like 28 years ago, so I can't complain about its durability. But it was a material that was hardened using ultraviolet light of some intensity, and I'm not sure they still use that sort of thing. Mine had worn down, and I also noticed the surrounding color change. I still have a tooth (the other front tooth) with the original repair, so I'm likely to be facing this again at some point.
