Is there a support group for the girlfriends/wives of engineers? To be gender neutral, I should say "significant others/spouses" but we all know that men don't go to support groups when they don't understand their women. They just go to the basement and bang on book-ends wrapped in tape.
If there is such a support group, I'm sure my girlfriend would be thrilled to be a member. When rolling her eyes doesn't make me stop talking, she resorts to falling asleep on the couch or patting me on the head and telling me I'm "so cute."
It's also kind of nice to realize that there are other people out there like me who don't wear matching socks but can remember intricate details of a computer program we wrote years ago in a language we don't use anymore.
Long live the geeks. Er, long live the engineers.
