My point would be, that the sounds gets fuller with a greater richness in overtones. Also the upper range ones. There even might be added more audible overtones to the upper end of the spectrum.

Due to the math of difference notes, the lower end of the overtone spectre does not suffer in relative strength by the addition of these upper range overtones.

But one cannot just use extremely large mouthpieces on a euphonium, as there is a point where everything ceases to line up. I have not determined that point precisely. But for me, on euph, it is placed somewhere between a Yeo signature bassbone mpc, which works extremely well, and a mouthpiece somewhat alike to a Conn Helleberg II, which gives a marvellous sound, but which compresses the octaves unbearably.
