Lowell Liebermann was "Composer in Residence" for the Dallas Symphony for several long years. In the original part, Lowell wrote too many passages way too low to be excecuted with ensemble integrity so I performed many notes up an octave. I did not copy the part as after the first performance I felt it was a piece that I or any other orchestra would ever play again. I wrote several notes to Mr. Liebermann concerning changes that he should do with the part so it may be more playable. I do remember a very difficult fugal part with the bass trombone that was very low.

I never have listened to the recording. I'm glad you like it.
