I am definitely shocked that this a live recording. I actually thought the ensemble playing was very clean overall; what bothered me more was the country "twang" of the rhythm section (partially attributable to the electric bass), but maybe my Midwestern ears are just hypersensitive to this. All that aside, this is definitely one of the best jazz tuba CD's I've heard, and I look forward to more from the group.
