I agree that it is laid back and fun. I played it as a solo with our local town band a couple of years ago and it went well. Only problem was I played it on a small Holton (made in France) Eb...outside. Was hard to hear out on the lawn. I do like the piece and often use it as a warmup when I practice.
I also agree with Jim L that the cadenza can use some touchup.
