I've had both asthma and sarcoidosis. Believe me, it was, and still is, a big drag. My condition was much, much worse than it is now. If you're not already on some sort of steroidal inhaler, you may want to go on one for a while. It's not something that's good to do for your entire life, but some folks do have to do just that. Anyway, a steroidal spray not only reduces the inflamation, but it also makes your lungs far less irritated by various airborne agents. Most asthma sprays give only temporary relief, where as steroidal sprays tend to give much longer relief. If your asthma is extremely severe, you might even want to go on an oral steroid such as prednisone. However, that's something you would not want to remain any longer than you have to. My experience with various natural remedies, and homeopathic medecines, is that they do next to nothing in the short term. In the long run, changing your eating habits might be the very best thing that you could possibly do. You may want to check in with an allergy specialist as well. You might have food allergies that you're not even aware of, and I believe that those allergies are related to asthma, or can help trigger the asthma. Personally, I'm quite convinced that sarcoidosis is related to allergies; problems with airborne mold; and is possibly triggered by a viral infection in your lungs. I had all three of these possible prerequisites. I love San Francisco as a city, but the combination of fog and pollen can really raise havoc with your lungs. That's to say nothing of mold, if your home has that problem as well. Bottom line: it's a dangerous world out there. I'm now in Reno, but the trade-off simply isn't worth it for me.
