Can anyone tell me what was the first orchestral piece that had a part that was written specifically for the tuba? Not just a transcribed part that was originally intended for one of its predecessors. I do not have the chance to check this board as much as I like to, so if there is already a thread on this could someone please show me where it is? Thanks.
