It's like Rick said, the Cerveny 601/701 is a great tuba but it does take quite a bit of air. I switched to a Nirschl because it was easier to get the sounds I wanted than it was using the Cerveny. I think finding a mouthpiece for these horns is a bit of a challenge. The normal thinking didn't apply for me. I ended up using an R&S Heavyweight Helleberg and a Schilke-Helleberg II with some success. According to what I know, neither of those mouthpieces should have worked with that horn but then, what do I know?
The one thing I can say unequivocably about the Cervenys is that they're an incredible bargain for the money. If they fit you and your playing situation, I have no reservations recommending them.
