I think that it is quite ordinary. As a qualifier for asking about instruments and mouthpieces, however, I think you're all washed up. Even beginners who have never touched a horn, and perhaps MORE the beginners than any others should ask these questions. According to an instrument repairman I know, nickel plated instruments usually hold up better in the long run than other instruments. When I was just starting out, I needed help choosing a mouthpiece. This board is here for tubists from beginner to professionals, am I right?
