Until now I've been relying primarily on excerpt books in my school library. However, I am now looking into starting my own personal collection and a bit befuddled by all the options. Any and all advice regarding this topic would be greatly appreciated. Which books are most complete? Which are most accurate/faithful to the score?

Also, I've searched in all the obvious(to me) places for Boston Symphony Program Notes and Concert Goer's Guide with very little luck. I don't know the authors and may not even have the titles right. They were suggested to me as excellent sources of information. Any thoughts on this topic would also be *very* greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everyone in advance,
joseph :)
