I live in Williamsport Pennsylvania and am a semi proffessional player inthe Binghamton.N>Y> area. I have found a number of Henry Distons instruments in the past and they were excellant horns for their time. The Diston family were musicians and instrument makers in England in the mid 1800s. They moved to Philadelphia somtime around 1880. They held many important musical instrument patents. In about 1886 they relocated their factory to Williamsport. In about 1898 a stockholder Brua Keefer aquired the company which became the Keefer band instrument co. They manufactured School quality instruments until the factory burned down in 1964. I have owned about 5 keefer EEb tubas ad they are nice horns. its very difficult to find one in great condition. If you need any more info about this subject feel free to e mail me
