I really liked the one I had a chance to play. It reminded me of
the old-style all-rotary Meinl-Weston 2155's. While the Yamaha
might not have quite the depth and character of sound of the 2155,
it was sure a whole lot easier to play. The 861 I played had very
good intonation and very even response. By the way, am I the only
one who thinks those old 2155's were (are) fabulous horns? I know
piston valves are all the "fashion" now, but the new 2155's don't
seem to me to have as much sheer grunt as the old ones.
