I just finished my freshman year in college, and I am looking to get a tuba of my own before I graduate, but I'm not sure if I should get a CC or an EEb. I'm leaning toward getting the EEb (or maybe an F, but I can already play an EEb, I can't say the same for F tubas). It's easier to play than a bass tuba, it's cheaper, it's better for quintets, and so forth. Because of my financial situation, I'll only be able to get one tuba before I graduate. I'm worried that only owning an EEb might exclude me from being able to play in orchestras or bands outside of college, and I'm worried that only owning a high tuba would exclude me from some (or most) graduate schools. Can anybody give me some advice?
