I was a big fan of this piece in undergrad school. From following the score, I do know there IS a tuba part in the second movement (the double fugue). I forget if there is anything in the 3rd and pretty sure there is not one in the first. As far as the part goes I believe there is no more than 7 or 8 notes, although 3 or 4 of then are actually markes as solo if my score recollection is correct.
