The "amen" cadence or plagal cadence as it is called in theory is basically a subdominant( or IV) chord followed by another I chord in the key your piece is in.... i.e. your piece is in the key of Bb. To have an "amen" the chords would be a Eb major chord for "a" then a Bb major chord for the "men" ............................."A"(Eb chord).."Men"(Bb chord).
