Jay, I don't understand why on a piston-valved horn you would need (or want) to add the fifth valve after the tuning slide. On the 4-valve front-action horns that I have here, there seems to be more than enough room to add a valve ahead of the slide (particularly if it's a piston valve). Is there some sort of acoustic reason for your procedure?
