Being one of many that grew up playing the Miraphone 186 BBb, I can't say enough good things about them. But after recently acquiring a 70's vintage Meinl-Weston 25, I'm completely sold that it's the ultimate ROTARY BBb. I think Brasswind has them for $3995....a pretty good deal. Check with Dillon's. But I do agree with Matt's comments on going with a PISTON BBb, particularly the VMI 3301. I've played 2 of these on separate occasions and have been very impressed with response and intonation. So those are my personal favorites. Plus they're both made with a fairly heavy gauge metal that hold up well to everyday use by high school students. Good luck!

Josh
