The Brasswind in South Bend, Indiana finances horns. I bought one of my horns in this manner. I also sold my Jeep and made other sacrifices to get it. It is all a matter of priorities. When I was in high school, my parents got me started with a demo Meinl Weston 25. I traded that up for CC tuba in a few years, which I traded up for a 5/4 tuba some years after that. I still don't have any 'dream' horns, but am more or less satisfied with what I have. Lots of people ride Harley Davidsons who aren't rich. They just make the necessary sacrifices and pay over time - it is their passion. You don't need a lot of money to make music, just be patient and try to find the right used horn for the right price to get you started. Now about those (AT)#$%T Hirsbrunner prices..........
